Hello, Berkeley visitor! We have a lovely guest cottage here, and we often have a lovely guest in it. We particularly seek a visiting scholar or full-time worker.
This cottage, which is a separate building right behind my house, is up a couple of steps. It consists of two big, sunny rooms: an airy eat-in kitchen with a gas stove and lots of cabinet space, facing a leafy walnut tree, and another big room with a desk, a closet, drawers for clothes, a large mirror, linens, plenty of heat, plenty of light, and DSL.
The bathroom has a full-sized tub and excellent water pressure. We have a washer-dryer. The backyard has a wonderful plum tree, rosebush, blackberries, and so forth.
There is parking on our street. The block is quiet, friendly, and features children and cats. We are three and a fraction blocks from Ashby BART, and on the Berkeley Bicycle Boulevard Network.
The
neighborhood has an astonishing array of amenities. (See http://Bunk-in-Berkeley.com/neigh_map.html.) Nearby are BART and buses. We are one BART stop from
campus, and it takes me about seven minutes between campus and here by bike.
The rent is $1484 and shared utilities. No pets are allowed in the cottage, and we cannot rent
to a smoker. A security deposit, rental reference, and four-month stay is required.
Please tell us a bit about yourself:
for example, where you work or study, the dates you would like to stay (more or less), where you're living now, and so forth. To make sure I see your mail, please use the word cottage in the subject line of your mail. I prefer e-mail to phone but please give me your number just in case.
Thanks!
